Ghana’s
evergreen and dynamic gospel trio, Daughters of Glorious Jesus will be
releasing their 12th studio album ‘Abba Father’ come Sunday, 22nd
April.
The
group which debuted in 1990 with ‘Anwanwa Din’ is known for its excellent
compositions, and funky style. Having dominated the gospel scene with hit songs
after hit songs, Daughters of Glorious Jesus have become a household name in
Ghana, among Ghanaians in the diaspora, and among even westerners who just love
to hear the captivating harmonies.
The
group has under its belts a string of awards from ACRAG to OMA, to GMA, to
GGMA.
In
2004, the Daughters of Glorious Jesus sealed their dominance in the gospel
scene by grabbing a total of five awards at the Ghana Music Awards with their ‘Aseda’
album. This is a feat yet to be chalked by any gospel artiste in Ghana. In 2010
also, the video for ‘Bebre’ won them the gospel video award at the 4syte videos
awards making them the first winner of the award.
Known
for hit albums such as ‘Mebo Wo Din Daa’, ‘Mesom Awurade Daa’, ‘Asomdwee Hene’,
‘Nea Yehu’, ‘Aseda’, and ‘Trimude’, the Daughters of Glorious Jesus are
expected to thrill fans and lovers of gospel music with their latest album.
‘Abba
Father’ which was launched in December last year has already been released in
Takoradi at a concert dubbed Back2Back. The Accra edition of the
Back2Back concert slated for Sunday will see the album finally being made
available for public patronage.
Supporting
the trio in this upcoming concert would be another gospel music veteran Rev.
Mary Ghansah, Pastor Joe Beechem, Joe Mettle, Ceccy Twum, among others. Regular
