DAUGHTERS SET TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM

Ghana’s evergreen and dynamic gospel trio, Daughters of Glorious Jesus will be releasing their 12th studio album ‘Abba Father’ come Sunday, 22nd April.

The group which debuted in 1990 with ‘Anwanwa Din’ is known for its excellent compositions, and funky style. Having dominated the gospel scene with hit songs after hit songs, Daughters of Glorious Jesus have become a household name in Ghana, among Ghanaians in the diaspora, and among even westerners who just love to hear the captivating harmonies.

The group has under its belts a string of awards from ACRAG to OMA, to GMA, to GGMA.

In 2004, the Daughters of Glorious Jesus sealed their dominance in the gospel scene by grabbing a total of five awards at the Ghana Music Awards with their ‘Aseda’ album. This is a feat yet to be chalked by any gospel artiste in Ghana. In 2010 also, the video for ‘Bebre’ won them the gospel video award at the 4syte videos awards making them the first winner of the award.

Known for hit albums such as ‘Mebo Wo Din Daa’, ‘Mesom Awurade Daa’, ‘Asomdwee Hene’, ‘Nea Yehu’, ‘Aseda’, and ‘Trimude’, the Daughters of Glorious Jesus are expected to thrill fans and lovers of gospel music with their latest album.

‘Abba Father’ which was launched in December last year has already been released in Takoradi at a concert dubbed Back2Back. The Accra edition of the Back2Back concert slated for Sunday will see the album finally being made available for public patronage.

Supporting the trio in this upcoming concert would be another gospel music veteran Rev. Mary Ghansah, Pastor Joe Beechem, Joe Mettle, Ceccy Twum, among others. Regular tickets go for GHC 30.00, while VIP tickets go for GHC50.00 and come with free copies of CDs of the ‘Abba Father’ album.
